Where we come from is crucial to who we are. Founded in 1859, the oldest publisher in the state produces books on the rich history, art and culture of the upper Midwest. The historical society operates 29 museums in Minnesota, and houses 550,000 books, 37,000 maps and 250,000 photographs and many artifacts in the History Museum in St Paul.
