If the word "diet" strikes a terror at the pit of your stomach, Cooks of Crocus Hill is here to help. We've teamed up with our friends at Mayo Clinic and put together a cooking, eating and lifestyle program designed for real, food-loving people, who don't buy into 48-hour diet shams, and yet aren't willing to turn their lives upside down with monk-like eating habits and half-marathon morning jogs.


The Life Recipe seven-week program is practical, scientific, backed by the immense reputation and knowledge of the Mayo Clinic, and approved by the avid eaters at Cooks of Crocus Hill.

Over the seven-week course, we'll supply you with recipes, run through preparation, give you shopping lists, and show you how to read food labels to put together square meals that you'll actually enjoy eating. We'll also discuss exercise and fitness basics and develop strategies around successfully incorporating healthful habits into your busy life.


Life Recipe combines medically developed dietary and fitness guidelines with the cooking know-how that brings it all together in the kitchen. More than that, our students find that coming to this class once a week provides a break from the comings and goings of their hectic lives—a relaxing escape that allows them to meaningfully approach their desire to improve their health, their lives, even their waistlines. While the rest of your week may feel like a maelstrom of work and family and friends, this is a timeout that you take for yourself—a chance to step back and really focus on a set of lifelong cooking, nutrition, and fitness skills that will make everything else that much easier and more enjoyable.

Every student gets a copy of Mayo Clinic Healthy Weight for EveryBody, the thorough and easy-to-follow eating and living guide that has earned itself a tremendous readership and includes recipes from The New Mayo Clinic Cookbook—a James Beard award winner. But a book alone can't provide everything we need to embark on our new, healthier lifestyle. In the Life Recipe program, you'll work directly with professional chefs and dietitians as you plunge into the subject matter and explore it from every angle. You'll leave the program with shopping lists, meal plans, recipes and a full arsenal of expert knowledge at your disposal.
